Dear Family,
Last week’s worship was a great time of remembering why we exist and are committed to being a “Don’t Talk About It; Be About It” church. If you missed worship, take a few minutes, (ok–quite a few minutes) and listen to it. This parable of The Life-Saving Station reminds us of how quickly we can forget what we were created to be and do.

• I have some really good news. Adam and Teri Hill (see pic) have accepted positions on the SRPC staff. Teri will be our children’s ministry director and Adam will be our assistant worship director/creative media director. (This means we’ll utilize Adam’s giftedness in video production!) The Hills are moving here from a church in Tallahassee, and will begin on our staff on October 10!

• Diane and I have become enamored with a show on the Food Network called “Chopped.” It’s a one-hour competition among four chefs who must produce an appetizer, main course and dessert with whatever ingredients they find in their baskets—stuff like goat brains, cactus, gummy worms, and fish heads!! I’m not sure I’m a foodie, but I am into Chopped!

• Pastor’s Class started last night with fifty-two people. If you forgot–join us this Wednesday! The Roman’s class has over fifty people signed up already and begins next Wednesday!

• I’m leading a church trip in April to Berlin, Prague, Budapest, and Vienna. There are just a few spots left and we’d love to have you join us.

• This weekend in worship we’ll start a new series on the whole story of the Bible, covering creation, the fall, redemption, and glorification. We’ll begin in Genesis and end in Revelation next spring. This weekend we’ll also celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. Don’t miss it!

Sincerely,

Ray
