Dear Fam,

  • I bring you glad tidings of great joy— Hatley-Grace Virginia Cates was born June 12 at 8:30 a.m.to Marty and Meredith. Marty is our Director of Student Ministries and he had to hustle back from the high school camp in Hilton Head for the early arrival!

  • Steve Saint's difficult recovery from a near total paralysis is chronicled in this new video released by ITec. If you missed earlier videos — check this one too.

  • Ever wonder what work ethic looks like? We get a daily lesson at SRPC watching Gene Parrish. Last week, during tropical storm Andrea, he was weed-eating in the midst of a torrential downpour. He's in his 70s!  We not only love this guy, we stand in awe of him!

  • Did you know our own Rich Greete was recently in Southeast Asia teaching future pastors in a seminary in a country closed to the gospel?

  • Project Beautiful is Saturday, June 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We'll work at 4 to 5 sites throughout the county (CR High School, Learning Center in Lecanto, The Path, We Care Food Pantry, Key Training Thrift Store, and a site in Inverness) and then return to the church for lunch together. You can sign up to serve now!

  • Paul Tripp Marriage Conference is September 13-14.  Put this on your calendar and invite your college students, or newly married kids home to do the seminar with you. This will be some solid gold marriage wisdom!

  • Have you bought one of the five books we are recommending for summer reading? Let me recommend one more — The Briarpatch Gospel by Shayne Wheeler!

  • Summer Conference at SRPC is July 7-10, with Jimmy Agan, New Testament Professor at Covenant Seminary.

  • The Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit is August 8 & 9 from 9:30 a.m.to 5:30 p.m.in the sanctuary.  The Summit is designed for business and community leaders, board members, volunteer leaders, students, emerging leaders, church staff, ministry leaders and anyone who would like to improve their leadership skills.

  • SRCS is blessed to have hired a delightful young Covenant College graduate to join the grammar school faculty in the fall--her name is Bethany Haines.  She needs temporary housing for a few weeks or more beginning the last week of July while she secures permanant housing.  If your home is feline free (she's allergic to cats!) and you have a spare bedroom to share or rent,  please contact Bethany directly or email SRCS's Shawn Hassen.

  • This weekend in worship, we'll be baptizing and I'll be preaching on Matthew 7:13-27!  Psalm 22:1 says, "I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord."  I can't wait to worship with you this weekend!
