- Camp Seven Rivers is off to a flying start! Week one is full – and other weeks are nearing capacity. We have a stellar camp team… You would be so proud of the work being done here this summer!
- The first of June's four men's breakfasts had 130 in attendance. Join us this Sunday morning at 8 a.m. in the student ministry building.
- UPCOMING STUFF: Summer Conference – July 6-10 with guest preacher, Jimmy Agan, a New Testament professor at Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. The Willow Creek Leadership Summit is August 8 & 9 from 9:30 a.m.to 5:30 p.m.in the sanctuary. The Leadership Summit should be of particular interest to those in business, educational, or civic leadership in our community. Needless to say this is a tremendous leadership learning opportunity for Citrus County.
- SRPC is planning a Japan missions trip for November 8-17, 2013. This Sunday after worship, there will be a brief meeting for those interested to learn more. Visit www.japancpi.com for more information and videos. Also, one missionary family in Japan (The Pfeil's) are reaching young families with Legos. If you have Legos or Duplos you no longer need, please drop them off at the church welcome desk or front office and we'll put them to work building the Kingdom in Japan.
- The past year saw SRPC have some of the most fruitful Pastor’s Classes ever. This would not have been possible without our small group leaders who welcomed, led and loved the newest of the new in our church family. So thank you to the following who, by serving, help SRPC to be a sweet and welcoming family: Rich & Donna Barker, Tim & Shennen Bowman, Larry & Christina Bates, Hein deBeer, Bill & Esther Harris, Brook & Flo Julias, Bob & Christine Jernigan, Andy Kacer, Dick & Tari Kruzick, Sam & Wilma Kepler, Barb Lucas, Bob & Joyce Plechaty.
- Diane and I ate at a really fun place in Ocala last week – Artisinal Dish. It's miles from nowhere, but the beautiful ride through horse country was worth it.
- Here's a blog post and a short article that intrigued me this week.
- Here's the funniest obituary you've ever read. It was written by John Larroux, our 2012 Summer Conference speaker, and his sister at the passing of their mother. It got nationwide attention and ended up being printed in the New York Times!
- SRPC is traveling to England and Scotland on May 8-17, 2014. Stay tuned for more details!
- This weekend, we’ll continue our series on the Beauty of Jesus. We'll take the Lord’s Supper together and there will be an opportunity for people to be anointed and prayed over for healing during the communion service. Read James 5.14-15 in preparation! I can't wait to ‘turn our eyes upon Jesus’ together this weekend.
