Dear Friends,

When our staff gets together we love to tell stories of where we see God at work at SRPC, in the lives of people here and in our own families. Here are some of the places and ways we saw Him work at SPRC over the last year.
  • Hunger Week last November
  • Generous giving to Haiti: $44,000
  • Progress in creating a welcoming culture
  • Mission Emphasis Month – one week each to focus on Vienna and the Beilmans, New Orleans and Ray Cannata, Mexico and Isaiah 55 and Haiti and Dony and Sharon St. Germain
  • Second anniversary of Celebrate Recovery
  • Bring-a-visitor emphasis before Easter
  • Brandon and Robyn Lauranzon
  • Hiring of Dana and Sheila James and the energy and excitement in the room at the Meet-the-Headmaster event
  • College student summer interns
  • The phenomenal Camp Seven Rivers
  • New Horizons (Key Center) residents joining SRPC
  • Utilization of video testimonies to enhance worship
  • Creation of the Florida Network (which SRPC has spearheaded) to be a stimulus for new church starts from Jacksonville to Sarasota
  • Trip to Israel and Jordan – our best pilgrimage yet!
  • Deacons training in how to wisely extend compassionate care
  • Reading The Praying Life as staff and elders
  • Gym renovation – underway as I write!
  • Unity of church and staff in commitment to reenergizing our school’s mission
  • Continued fruitfulness of MOPS
  • Trunk or Treat – it was amazing
  • Maundy Thursday Service – nailing our sins to the cross
  • Edge ministry to 3rd-5th graders on Sunday mornings drawing in new families
  • Abortion Recovery Ministry growth
  • Leadership of Dave Hoefakker in Celebrate Recovery
  • High School students serving in student ministry – being mentored and mentoring all at the same time!
While it has been a year of significant family transition for Diane and me (empty nest, father’s death, daughter’s wedding) and this has resulted in a not too surprising exhaustion – we are still loving watching God build His family at SRPC. I’ve loved preaching through Galatians. I love the staff I get to serve with and the elders’ camaraderie. I love being a part of a church family that’s embracing gospel sweetness, wild about each other and fiercely committed to bringing gospel beauty to our community. Join me this weekend as we finish our Galatians study, share the Lord’s Supper, meet to elect new leaders, enjoy being the beloved children of God and anticipate all the new and powerful ways the Father will work in the year to come!

Love,

Ray
