Dear Friends,
It’s been an awesome start to a new church year: a new music director hired, a Pastor’s Class full of gospel-hungry folks, people flooding into small groups, our Christian school with a great enrollment and a palpable energy and enthusiasm among faculty, parents and students, and numerous accounts of beautiful acts of welcome of visitors and loving care for each other. God is at work at SRPC!
• Pray for our chaplain, Abe Dispenette (he’s been in Afghanistan) and his wife, Kirsta. Military deployment is awfully tough on families: Abe's email.
• Ever wonder what SRPC believes? Acts 29 is the name of a ministry like ours which is evangelical, missional and Reformed. Their statement of belief mirrors ours to a “T.” Check it out!
• Hats off to Leonard and Becki Bush—recently named Citizens of the Year by the Key Training Center for their charitable support!
• Whose voice are you listing to today? I’ve read and reread a great devotional by Scotty Smith on hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit. May his voice trump all others so that you are freshly assured of God’s fatherly love for you. Read here.
• I’m preaching on Acts 1:12-26 this weekend. Should be a blast!
Sincerely,
Ray
