Dear Family,
So much happening at SRPC:
· SRCS Auction last Friday was delightful—awesome food, lots of fun.
· Weekend worship was rocking—Gwen Camera singing “Love Lifted Me” elevated my soul! Attendance was fabulous, too.
· At the senior’s dinner on Monday night they made gifts for the nineteen teen moms attending Teen MOPS—just beautiful.
· MOPS had a crowd on Tuesday—lots of new young moms were being loved.
· SRCS play, “Did Someone Say, Murder?” was so much fun, the food was “killer” good and seeing so many non-SRCS folks there for four sold-out performances was almost the end-of-me.
· Hunger Week begins with this weekend’s worship. Next Wednesday night we are going to eat together at the SRPC Soup Kitchen (6:00 pm in the Student Ministry Center–simple meal of soup and bread) and watch a documentary on the challenge of feeding your family in a culture where food prices are soaring and salaries are receding.
· SRCS football has made the playoffs and is hosting a game this Friday night (see SRCS website for details).
· This weekend in worship I’ll preach on “Blessed Are The Poor” and we’ll joyously celebrate the University of Miami’s shocking win over FSU (yes, this is an outcome that will require a large measure of faith!)
Love,
Ray
· On one sad note, SRPC lost a gem of a man this week as Gene Thompson passed away on November 7. Gene’s memorial service will be at SRPC on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
