Dear Fam,
There's just a little more of MORE!
- This weekend, we'll be doing prayer walks after each service for those willing to participate. Groups of 10-20 will congregate at the end of worship and walk to the preschool, school, student ministry building, athletic field and children's ministry area to pray for God's blessing on each of these ministries. Each group will have leadership, so there will be no expectation for you to pray out loud. The prayer walks will not last more than 30 minutes and the Saturday group will have flashlights (making it a Holy Ghost tour). Our Father loves when we ask Him to do what He has promised to do--draw many children to Himself.
- The MORE Campaign concludes with financial gifts pledged on March 16,17. During worship, each member and friend of SRPC will be given a pledge card to fill out and return at the conclusion of worship. Even the children of SRPC will contribute by bringing forth the collections they've made for the advancement of our ministry to children. Worship that weekend is 4:30 on Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday with a grand party to follow: BBQ Chicken and pork, green beans, loaded potato casserole, blackberry cobbler--and games for kids: a rock climbing wall, bounce house, jousting, giant slide plus popcorn, cotton candy and MORE!
- It's encouraging to hear of ways people are finding to give to the Lord's work through MORE. In the past, people have given jewelry, boats, motorcycles, antique cars, and valuable collectibles. Already in this campaign, someone's given a baby grand piano, and we're working with a family considering a gift of property in Vermont. If you are limited in what you can give from your income, ask God to show you other ways you might honor Him with you giving.
- The actual giving of these pledges begins in April. On April 6/7, we'll announce the grand total of what God has provided to advance our mission through the MORE campaign.
- If it isn't crystal clear--perhaps once again you should watch the MORE instructional video.
- Get the tissues out. Here's the blog post of the week entitled, A Time to Dance.
- Camp Seven Rivers is expanding to 7 weeks this summer--June 3 through July 19. View here for all the details.
- Mark your calenders for April 28 to attend the Americana Folk & Hymn Festival at Seven Rivers. "This concert featuring the Florida Philharmonic Symphony and Seven Rivers Chorale will include beloved folk and hymn melodies, as well as some undiscovered compositions. Tickets are on sale through our website now.
- Did you know--there is a staff baby boom at SRPC! We are triply blessed!!!
- Assistant Pastor Brandon Lauranzon and wife, Robyn are expecting Noelle Hope on May 16.
- Student Pastor Marty Cates and wife, Meredith are expecting baby girl Cates on June 27.
- Assistant Worship Director Adam Hill and Children's Ministry Director Teri Hill are expecting Iva Jane on July 20.
- This Sunday morning the clocks change--spring forward! I'll be preaching on Matthew 6:25-34. "I was glad when they said unto me, we shall go into the house of the Lord." Looking forward to sharing the joy with you this weekend.
Love,
Ray
